A cheesy, comforting casserole featuring layers of ravioli and pasta sauce perfect for dinner gatherings.
Nothing says "thanks for being a great father" than our Father-In-Law's Casserole! Layers upon layers of tender, cheesy ravioli, rich, vibrant pasta sauce, and so much cheese. So, so much cheese! Melty, sharp, creamy cheese, just as cheesy as all your father-in-law's jokes! Mmm, Father-In-Law's Casserole is a delicious sign of appreciation!
Ingredients
- 1 (20-ounce) package refrigerated cheese ravioli
- 3 1/2 cups pasta sauce store-bought or homemade
- 2 cups small-curd 4% cottage cheese
- 4 cups mozzarella cheese shredded
- 1/4 cup parmesan cheese grated
- fresh parsley optional, to taste, minced, for garnish
Directions
- Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.
- In a large pot of salted, boiling water, cook the raviolis to al dente, according to the package directions.
- Drain the raviolis.
- In a 9x13-inch baking dish, add 1 cup of the pasta sauce and spread it out evenly.
- Add 1/2 of the raviolis to the baking dish, layering them out evenly.
- Add 1 1/4 cups of the pasta sauce to the baking dish, spread it out evenly on top of the ravioli layer.
- Add half of the cottage cheese and half of the mozzarella cheese on top of the pasta sauce layer in the baking dish, spreading the cheeses out evenly.
- Repeat the layers, starting with the remaining raviolis and ending with the remaining cottage cheese and the remaining mozzarella cheese.
- Sprinkle the top of the casserole with the parmesan cheese.
- Bake, uncovered, until bubbly and the cheese is melted, about 30-40 minutes.
- Let the casserole stand for 5-10 minutes.
- Serve garnished with the parsley.
