Loretta's Famous Coleslaw

The Scoop

Coleslaw may be the side dish, but this one knows how to steal the plate.
Crisp cabbage and carrots get tossed in a creamy, tangy dressing made with buttermilk, mayo, Dijon, apple cider vinegar, and lemon.
It’s crunchy, zippy, creamy, and exactly what you want next to anything hot off the grill!
Hack it:
Add some sweetness: Mix in shredded apple, diced pear, or a handful of raisins.
Bring the crunch: Add toasted sunflower seeds, sliced almonds, or chopped pecans.
Go Asian-inspired: Swap some of the mayo for sesame oil and add grated ginger, lime juice, and a splash of soy sauce.
Add color: Mix in shredded red cabbage, thinly sliced radishes, or grated carrots.
Leftovers:
BBQ sandwich topper: Pile it onto pulled pork, chicken, or crispy tofu sandwiches.
Fish tacos: Use it as a crunchy topping with grilled or fried fish and lime.
Slaw wraps: Roll it into tortillas with leftover chicken, avocado, and hot sauce.
Burger upgrade: Add a generous handful to burgers or veggie burgers for crunch and tang.
Slaw bowl: Toss with cooked rice, leftover protein, avocado, and extra vegetables.
