The Scoop
Glow Up Your Greens: Boujee Garlic-Parmesan Asparagus.
Forget the soggy, boiled vegetables of your childhood; this roasted asparagus is the ultimate culinary glow-up. It takes less than 15 minutes to transform humble green stalks into a high-end restaurant side dish using just hot air, garlic, and a heavy hand of Parmesan cheese. The high heat of the oven blisters the tips to perfect crispiness while locking in that bright flavor.
It is cheap, ridiculously easy, and fancy enough to impress your boss (or your date) with absolutely minimal effort.
Ingredients
- 2 pounds asparagus, washed, woody ends trimmed off
- 2 tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil
- 3 large cloves garlic, minced
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
- parmesan cheese, optional, to taste, grated, for serving
Directions
- Preheat the oven to 425 degrees F.
- Arrange the asparagus on a large rimmed baking sheet in a single layer.
- Drizzle the asparagus with the olive oil and sprinkle it with the garlic, the salt, and the pepper.
- Toss the asparagus with tongs.
- Spread the asparagus spread in a single layer, trying to make sure they don't touch as much as possible.
- Bake the asparagus until it turns bright green and is crisp-tender, about 12 minutes.
- Sprinkle the asparagus with the parmesan and serve.
