Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon butter for greasing the pan
  • 1 pound egg noodles
  • 1 cup cream-style cottage cheese
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/8 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 cup chives finely chopped

Directions

  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.
  • Grease a 2–quart baking dish with the butter.
  • Bring a pot of salted water to a boil.
  • Add the egg noodles to the water and cook to al dente, according to the package directions.
  • Transfer the egg noodles from the stove and drain them well.
  • In a large bowl, mix the egg noodles, the cottage cheese, the sour cream, the salt, the pepper, and the chives together.
  • Pour the noodle mixture into the prepared baking dish.
  • Bake until the egg noodles begin to brown and the mixture becomes bubbly, about 30 minutes.
  • Transfer the casserole from the oven and allow it to cool for 15 minutes.
  • Serve.
