The Scoop

Your cheeseburger just got promoted to pie!
A flaky crust is packed with saucy ground beef, crispy bacon, onion, and plenty of sharp cheddar, then baked until golden, bubbly, and gloriously cheesy.
It’s nostalgic comfort food with a little game-night energy, no bun required.
Hack it:
Add diced pickles or pickled jalapeños to the beef filling for a classic burger tang.
Add diced mushrooms, bell peppers, or caramelized onions to the filling.
Stir chopped crispy onions or crushed pretzels into the panko for extra crunch.
Finish each slice with burger sauce, shredded lettuce, tomatoes, or extra pickles.
Leftovers:
Reheat slices in a skillet or air fryer to bring the crust back to life.
Chop a slice over a loaded burger bowl with lettuce, pickles, tomatoes, and burger sauce.
Turn leftovers into a cheesy breakfast hash with crispy potatoes and a fried egg.
Use slices as the filling for toasted wraps or quesadillas.
Crumble the filling over fries and top with extra cheese for loaded cheeseburger fries.

  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 5 slices bacon, chopped

  • 2 cups cheddar cheese, shredded
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 cup milk

  • Remove the skillet from the stovetop.
  • Add the breadcrumbs, the mustard, the barbecue sauce, the ketchup, the Worcestershire sauce, and the pepper.
  • Place the prepared pie crust in a 9-inch pie plate and then place the beef mixture into the pie crust.
  • Combine the cheese, the egg, and the milk in a small bowl.
  • Spread the egg mixture over the meat mixture.
  • Cover the pie crust edges with foil to prevent over-browning.
  • Bake for 15 minutes.
  • Remove the foil.
  • Bake uncovered until the pie crust is golden-brown and the cheese topping is bubbly and melty, about 15 minutes.
  • Allow it to cool.
  • Serve.
