Ingredients
- 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 cup butter or margarine softened
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 3/4 cup brown sugar packed
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 large eggs
- 1 2/3 cups semi-sweet chocolate morsels
- 1 cup nuts optional, chopped
Directions
- Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F.
- In a small bowl, mix the flour, the salt, and baking soda.
- In a large bowl, cream the butter, the granulated sugar, the brown sugar, and the vanilla extract together until the mixture is smooth and creamy.
- Add the eggs to the butter mixture, one at a time, and beat well after each addition.
- Gradually fold the flour mixture into the butter mixture, being careful not to overmix.
- Stir the chocolate chips and the nuts into the batter.
- Drop the cookie dough by the tablespoon onto a baking sheet.
- Bake the cookies until they are golden-brown, about 10 minutes.
- Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheets for 2 minutes.
- Transfer the cookies to a wire rack to cool completely.
