Recipe Background

Twisted Bacon is a unique, indulgent twist on classic bacon perfect for sharing.
When my friend Alex aced his final exams at culinary school, he celebrated by throwing a party. Since he had supported me through countless all-nighters, I wanted to bring something special that would stand out. That's when I remembered my eccentric aunt who loved a good kitchen experiment. She once twisted bacon, claiming it added an undeniable crisp that straight strips couldn't achieve. With this quirky method, I grabbed two pounds of thick-cut bacon from the local butcher, knowing it would provide the hearty flavor I wanted for the night.
I laid each twisted piece on a wire rack above a foil-lined tray. This way, the bacon wouldn’t wallow in its drippings, allowing it to crisp beautifully all around. Before placing them in the oven, a little recall from my aunt’s advice echoed in my mind: 'Flip it halfway through for a balanced crunch!' She wasn’t wrong—the result? Delectably crunchy twists that became the party’s unofficial MVP. As each guest grabbed a piece, they were intrigued by the texture. The twists transformed an everyday ingredient into something worth remembering. That night Alex was thrilled with his new culinary path, and I left with a sense of discovery, knowing a little twist can add a lot of character.
